The first ACE photo Competition has closed. The Judges were looking for photos that displayed the fantasy of tinplate trains preferably on working layouts.

 

The winner and runner up were both shot on long established loft railways at both ends of the country.

A very late entry won a Special Judges Award and that was shot on a garden railway in Northern Holland.

 

With over 50 entries there were several more that qualified for our £30 prize for using them at some time in the future and they were awarded to Peter Beale of Tewin, Peter Metcalfe of Blackpool, Martin Wright of Southampton and N Groombidge of Devon. David Upton entered a marvellous interpretation of ACE material inserted into pre war Hornby Box Top themes.  The Judges did not consider it qualified as a photographic entry but with David’s agreement have enhanced the entry and used it in a series of ads in the HRCA Journal and ACE Trains Owners Club Newsletter.

 

Next deadline for the ACE Photo Competition -  March 31 2010.
