In producing this Battle of Britain Locomotive, ACE Trains have recognised the work of the most highly decorated pilot in the Second World War, Leonard Cheshire VC. In 1948 he set up Cheshire Homes and today the charity is known as Leonard Cheshire Disability serving over 20,000 people with disabilities in the UK as well as being active in 52 countries. For each loco sold ACE Trains have kindly donated £10. I would to thank ACE Trains for this generous gesture.

I am the area Fundraiser for Hampshire and Dorset.
It is my role to build awareness of the Charity and organise fundraising events in my area and support National LCD events and support homes and support groups organising smaller events.
We also participate in most large sponsored events such as the London Marathon, Great North and South runs.
We have been asked by Bob Leggett area fund raiser (and Alresford Train Show organiser) for Leonard Cheshire Disability, to name one of our upcoming Bulleid Pacific’s 'Leonard Cheshire VC'. We had already agreed to donate £10 for every Battle of Britain Class loco in this series sold to the Homes. In addition we will donate and offer for auction on behalf of the Homes one named 'Leonard Cheshire VC', in a special livery. This will be one of an edition of two the other being offered to Bob Leggett for his personal collection.
We will honour one further branch of the RAF in a similar way at the end of the E/9 series production run.
